BELIEVE IN TRUTH
BUT NEVER
WHEN IT IS TOLD TO YOU
WITH A RELIGIOUS LESSON IN IT
FOR IT IS JUST A TRUTH
THAT HAS BEEN TAUGHT
NOT LEARNED

Not too sure what you're trying to say here. Do you think you're wiser than Shan Tideva? Do you think Tibet is crazy for wanting independance from China?
Richard2000
Analyse both wisdoms and you will see that they both state nothing... And why not would I be wiser than Shan Tideva??? Or at an equal level even... When all we both do is look upon ourselves and state how we feel??? Or do you think that simply because he is from Tibet and a monk that he is better because of that??? Is there a better donkey than a wise ass???

Seems you can't even listen to yourself by that standard...

Then remove the standard...

On the one hand you tell us suffering arises from listening to those who think they know best AND happiness arises out of ignoring those who think they know best. Then tell us to believe in truth but never when it is told with a religous lesson.... Am I to Ignore what you say becuase you seem to think you know best? Or follow what you say becuase you seem to know more than most? Don't get me wrong, I admire what you are trying to do. I think your message is "Think for yourself" and "Don't just accept what you are told as the truth". I wish you peace, you seem to be angry at something/someone right now, you are not alone, we all are, in our own way. Oh and for the record "Happiness is the absence of striving for happiness" wink

If anything... What I'm trying to say is that both statements say the same... Not a real reason for it... Or it is that if you look at the Tibetan statement, that theirs only works when they are on the receiving end... But what they are trying to say is that they are not allowed to be at the receiving end... Damn... Even Spock couldn't have said it better... And that's Mr. Spock... Not the Doc...
