Description

Not the best Lovecraft inspired image I have done ... but it was my first underwater scene. Originally designed for a player handout in a GURPS horror campaign I am running. I continued to tinker with it after the fact and in the end I feel it turned out rather well. Hour render time, which was surprising considering the amount of lights, shadows and material settings on this one. I initially added a murkier tone ... synthesizing clouded water and debris ... but found the piece to loose its overall strength. In the end I went with what you see here ... less realistic but more appealing to the eye ... to my eye at any rate. Mostly an array of DAZ products used. I threw in the Old One tentacle (by weirdass) at the last minute to fill out some of the negative space. Postwork in Photoshop CS. Composites, touch-ups, overlays, screens, saturation enhancements ... blah blah blah ... you know the drill. :) Comments are more than welcome!
