Description
Modelling and Compositing mainly in MAX 5.1, using Dome light and IES Sun. Post processing in Photoshop (those jaggies with the matte materials are a pain !!!). Render time approx. 2 minutes. Based on an otherwise crappy photo of mine (using a Fujifilm S7000).
I would really like to read your opinion and feel free to rate!!

Very original and intriguing image... It makes me want to see more of your pictures in a similar style. :) You say that rendering took 2 minutes... but that's 2 minutes using what exactly? A ten-cent pocket calculator or a Pentium Thunderbird XXL? Hmmm... Anyway, excellent picture - Bravo ;)

Sorry for not being specific Ian. Actually a quite old 1.8 GHz P4 with 512MB RAM (DDR at 333Mhz)and a Geforce FX5600. Not that this graphics card makes any difference whatsoever. In fact I bought this peecee back in 2001. So it is quite "mature"-for computer standards. Anyway thnx very much for the rating and the comments. BTW you are an exceptional 2D artist!!

Very nice compositing! Maybe 2 suggestions: the shadow in the water under the object might be too dark (shadows cast on water are rarely black) and the bump could be toned doen a bit to better match the scale of the image. Very nice work.

thnx jeff I'll try to fix 'em!!

This is an excellent piece of work.Really great composite.Great work on the textures as well.By the way that computer you're using isn't that bad.It could be much worse, like mine.[5 years old,P3 566 mhz, only 64 MB of ram, with a shot video card].The fun never stops when using it.But anyways this is a really excellent scene.Great Job.
