Description

As promised here is the full image, at a larger scale than the version I posted four years back. White liquid acrylic paint and black Indian ink on green A3 paper - scanned, retinted and made into a negative image using Photoshop, mid-1998. Sorry to be gross, but the "secret ingredient" mixed into the paint and ink to make those gossamer textures was actually my own saliva ;-) Works well though! And I've known people to mix far worse bodily substances into their paint before now *lol* Thank you for taking a look and your feedback is always appreciated :-)

Great to se it as a whole, but I am biased having seen it in parts, so I would cut it in two parts and keep the upper part :-) To be serious, I really love the textures in this!

@Gun: I plan to use the upper part as a CD cover, whenever I finally get round to issuing an old recording of mine from late '98 ;-)

Here it is! The spiritual adventure on the rock :-) I remember all those times I've moved my fingers on the surface of an ancient rock. I love that feeling - there has happened so much in the lifetime of the rock. And it's not so hard and cold at all! It can be soft and warm, it has all the colours of the world; you just have to feel it all. I like tis work of yours a lot - it has depth, it has secrets to hide, and secrets to tell. Thanks for repost, thanks for earlier details. :-)

It's great to see the whole image after enjoying all the details in their own right, I love this in a purely abstract sense, the colours & textures & play of light & contrast are a visual treat. The intensity, mood & suggestions of shape & form fascinate & intrigue me too.

You know some evil scientist is going to get hold of this in the future and extract your DNA to create a race of SuperJeeeem clones? I think the only thing that the SuperJeeeems will do to cause any concern, is their nocturnal raids upon small villages, where they cover the buildings with abstract expressionist daubings, the villagers awakening to think they have been transported to Mars ;) Maybe not...L Great work my friend, imaginative to say the least, and sorry for being gross, but I hope you didn't have a cold when composing this work ;) hugs Thanks for sharing :D

Yup, there's more of you in this work than I thought! Gross? Well, I guess it's no more so than collecting used postage stamps. As for the final effect, this is a paradise for geologists ;-)

This is extremely intense Jim. When I look at this I am typically reminded of a dark and angry flow of thoughts. Maybe it is the color scheme.... maybe the texture or lighting. More likely it is the combination of all of these elements that make me think of a dark and violent emotion underlying this work. Almost like cave art from a psychopathic caveman at the end of his ability to control himself. As if this were the last thing he may have done before losing total control and commiting an act that could not be taken back.
