Apophysis postprocessed in IrfanView and The GIMP. I must admit I like this a lot, but please feel free to say why you do or do not; otherwise maybe I will not get better.... Thanks!

Ok...here's what I think. First of all, you know I applaud your courage and the fact that your images are generally outside the box. Buuut...personally...I would have created a little contrast here. Same texture, only apply the texture stronlgy to the flame, but softly to the background. That way the flame would be more prominent than the background. Just me, but whatcha think?

I did it at first the way you suggest sharkrey, but I became enamoured with the texture as much as the flame.... Choices, choices. :)
