Description

I'm sooo busy. I'm taking art classes and plan to graduate UW fall quarter, so I'm swamped with things to do. Anyhow, this is one of the things I drew in my spare time, it was supposed to be a little sketch for art class but I decided to just keep it the way it is for now. I'm really proud of this picture. I tried drawing Hibiscus flowers (thus the title being Hawaii, since they are abundant there). I started out with pencil then did the rest with pastels (can you believe this small image took me almost 3 hours! Of course I did this when I was only a couple months into art class. I drew this early fall 2004, and I was new to pastels). Hope you like it. ~Alena

ooooooh...so pretty!!! i love oil pastels...used to do a lot of abstract images with them...nothing realistic though. You did a wonderful job with this!!!! good luck with all your classes and stuff! :)
