It's amazing how the record gets tangled. I once asked an expert who first built an engine with dual overhead cams and he quickly answered Harry Riccardo. Manx Nortons had DOHC at the time and I knew of the Bugatti. Nobody ever used such a system in a airplane to my knowledge. The Duesenbergs used such a sytem in America in the 20's and also some of the Leo Goosen Millers that became the Offenhauser. I wondered how L-head had gotten so affixed to economy of production. Certainly the Model T held some of those heads. When I finally got a DOHC of my own it was a two valve in a Kawasaki and not the four valve systems that have proliferated as environmental compromises of power and efficiency. I closed the books on looking for mechanical designs. Rotary and two stroke had tried it's best. For all I know this is a Suzuki!!
