I never find the time to do everything, but love the things I do. Very easy to make friends with and never judge people by what others have said, as I am capable of finding out for myself.BIOBorn in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK. Was lousy at school and taught myself later on in life. Suffered a long illness in childhood and was constantly bullied on my return to school and so glad when I left. First ever job was making cricket bats and hockey sticks.
My interests have changed through life but are all art orientated. I can draw a little but don't bother much now only on the computer. Retired early due to redundancy and have no desire to start again. Live more comfortable than most in this sorry world, though I do sponsor third world children. My lot has not always been a happy one, but I am so grateful for what I have. I know a lot of people who I love and they love me in return, what more could a man ask.
The photograph is years old and was taken by my Aunt who is now in her 86th year. I have kept my hair although it has gone from blonde to grey. The rest of me is not in bad condition although I have gained a little weight due to inactivity with a broken ankle. I am hoping for some decent weather so that I can cycle the countryside once again. Best wishes, Dave - 12th April 2005
23rd June 2005 - I have just removed my favourite artists list, not out of malice it's just to stop the dreaded ebots :) I had a lot more favourites than was listed anyway so it was not up-to-date. I love you all but I must devote time to my wife who is not mobile anymore and needs my help. I may stop by from time to time, but if not I still think of you all. Yours sincerely, Dave

Very sad story, but at least it was recorded and not just paved over without any excavation. It should have been preserved and this photo is a great record of the site. Who knows how many other such sites big business just bulldozes over. Considering the rough conditions, you did an excellent stich job. I can't see any seems at all!

You've made and excellent job of putting all the images together, congratulations. Sadly, newts and microbes rank higher in conservation stakes than interesting sites like this!

Magnificent panoramic composition, sad indeed is your story, wonderful that you have recorded a bit of history so well. Bravo!

Wonderful job! Your photo essay should be posted in a major mag where it can spread the word. I saw a similar instance happen in my area, but the destruction was for a greedy developer to build multi-million dollar homes. Sad, but money always wins and history loses.

A big thank you to everyone who visited my gallery and took the time to comment. I do not always have that time but I try my best and wish you all well and hope you have a better ending than these poor souls.

Superb panorama & a great but very sad (& all too common) story about modern England's lack of respect for the land to which it owes so much. I wonder if the Scots or Welsh would do such a thing, I somehow doubt it? Thank you very much for putting the time & effort into this that you have & bringing it to a few peoples attention. In my opinion this is the sort of image that should get all the votes & plaudits, not some effortless nature shot that frankly takes very little effort, I include my attempts in the latter category. I imagine you are hugely proud of your son, to boot! I agree with 'bentchick' (interesting name?), this belongs in a publication somewhere - and in a museum. We have 'Derbyshire Life' here - do you have something similar? I would seriously suggest you submit it. Best regards, Steve.
