Description

~*~Gemini~*~ Mythology: Ancient Greeks saw the twins, Castor and Pollux in this distinctive group of stars. They hatched from an egg (as represented on Roman coinage) laid by Leda, Queen of Sparta, after being seduced by Zeus in the form of a swan (Cygnus). Educated by the wisest of creatures, Chiron - the centaur, the twins aided another student, Jason - of the Argonauts, in his quest to recover the golden fleece. For this reason many mariners see Gemini as a guarding and guiding figure in the sky. Now although it is said that the twins were brothers, I've chosen to depict them as sisters, sisters of the sea :) for Gemini does lie between Cancer (water sign) and another (I've forgotten) A simple mermaid sketch, changed the color tones to lavendar, and did a bit of post work in the way of cleaning up the background, smudging and adding the frame. To make the twins I took one image copied her and placed her upside down rather than side by side as the true Gemini are depicted in the heavens. Thank you to all who view my doodles. Oh wow I love astrology and Greek mythology, a Cancer myself ( yes a moody one indeed? ) I think Pisces might be the other water sign, but not for sure. this is a great depiction of the twins, lovely job and thanks for sharing the background info ! :P

Gemini lies between Taurus, the Bull, and Cancer, the Crab. Overall, a wonderful rendition of the twins. OTOH, you might want to go with Pisces, the fish, which generally shows two fish. And this is much better, IMO for that.
