Although she did not know it, the luxury ship Elise DeWinter had been working on catered to a multidimensional clientele ... carrying passengers through both time and space to cruise Victorian Era Terra. To enhance the experience, the majority of the Dark Sea Queen's crew were authentic Terrans of the period. The passengers were encouraged to stay "in character" so as not to frighten the ignorant primitives. All went well up until the time the Intergalactic Merchant's Association (IMA) seized both the ship and her crew. The Dark Sea Queen was dismantled and her crew was taken to a detention camp. The IMA intended to humanely euthanize the ignorant primitives until they were forced to go along with a systematic release of the crew, because their plight had come to the attention of several local activist groups. Bowing to public criticism, the IMA released the first twenty-four Terrans into the general populace. With strict orders to find local lodgings until the matter of what to do with them had been settled, Elise and the other chosen left the detention camp that had been their home for the last two months. None of them knew they were no longer on Earth, nor could they imagine what awaited them on the other side of those glass doors. ====================== Elise DeWinter is one of my roleplaying characters.
