Description

The debate surrounding Terry Schiavo brings me back to the death of my own father a few months ago. He was terminally ill and was only treated to prevent suffering, no alimentation. I'm not taking sides, but can only share that is passing away was a very human experience and a very peaceful one to. My illustration portrays what I feel it might be, to die slowly under sedation.

Very nice work Eric. My mom passed away a few years ago under similar circumstances. What good is life without sentiency?

Excellent illustration Eric. Sedate tide, enclosed all sides with a wide - open - offering freedom - sky. Peaceful Model with smooth relaxed curves & an awkward, straining pose from the figure looking to the freedom from above. Excellent interpretation:)

Excellent concept & artwork!!...I also lost my father 7 months ago in the same way (terminally ill and treated only to relieve suffering)...your image & notes depict that traumatic (and as you said) very human experiance so well!!....I looked at this pic for a very long time...I may have shed a little tear...but "Thanks Eric"....I enjoyed the moment...
