Hi Guys...
I'm RGUS, a 3D artist from New Zealand hence the Kiwi Avatar.
I've been using Poser since 2004 and recently begun to use DAZ Studio.
Originally I used the render engines bundled with the base software and it was not until Octane was available did I change engines. I believe iRAY, now supplied with DAZ Studio, does a very good job. However, my development has stayed with Octane since I use both Poser and Studio with Octane for each as the main render engine.
Enjoy!

I love this image overall. The lighting is excellent and brings out the form and texture beautifully. Having said that I do find the sharpness of the shadow under the left breast and the highlight around the navel a little distracting, although I'm not sure if you can resolve those without resorting to post work. But don't take that comment out of proportion, I think the image is excellent.

I agree with the lighting problems you mentioned, I'm no postwork expert, in fact wouldn't know where to begin actually. The REAL problem is, if you move a light just a smidge, you loose any effect you were after. This inage took about 20 renders to get the best I could with the knowledge I have. Thanks for for your comments "bandred", I will take them on board.

This is a fantastic image. Very real looking. I am sorry I can not suggest anything. I am still learning Poser, so I have no idea what to tell you. Yet I do agree with "Bandred". Otherwise a fantastic image.

Deane - I too agree with Bandred. Judging by the shadows - I suspect the 2 problem areas whould be very hard to fix. Maybe the breast one could be fixed by using depth mapped shadows instead of r/trace for that light. And her navel - maybe twisting her body a bit. I wonder how this would look rendered in P6!

Very, very good. I love the exquisite detail of the skin, and the lighting sets an awesome mood. Fixing the breast problem with a depth mapped shadow sounds like a good idea I'd suggest both a large blur radius and a large map size. I wouldn't know how to fix her navel. I wonder how P6 would handle this, ambient occlusion should fix the navel problem neatly. Anyway, excellent work!

I think you did an awesome Job for no post work.Very nice Deane

Globals and depth maps both leak light badly though killing your global would probably fix the navel. Zooming in with the shadowcam will help if you should use a depth map spot, too. This probably will not get the shadows on the waistchain, though. A blend of RayTrace and depthmap spots can get you some results you might like...
