Description

Here are a few different looks of a Pelican flight. These were shot with a fill flash to help add detail in the shadow areas. It's a very useful technique when capturing birds in flight. Manual setting on the camera 200 iso f7.1 1/1250 high speed syn on flash +1. or 1 1/2 stop down from the sunny 16 rule.

Wonderful collage here, and excellent sharpness and detail. Thanks for putting in the settings, it does help for us rookies that want to try and capture birds in flight. Percise work! ALoha! V

Excellent shots. I've tried to capture flying birds alot last days and know how difficult it is, very well done and presented! But the flash is only useful if you can get very close ? (flash ranges max. 5-10mtrs ?)
