It's been awhile since I posted one of my writings so thought i'd do one now. Thios was written during a political campaign. *********************************************** Political Lies A man told a really funny story today, I should have stopped up my ears, I know; I shouldn't have listened to a word he had to say, But did I do the sensible thing? No--no. He began to talk and make gestures too, He squinted an eye and wiggled a brow; It was all so amusing, I'm telling you, Keep a straight face--I'm asking , how? I laughed and laughed, tears streamed down my face, I laughed so hard that I fell down onto the floor, I grabbed my sides, I rolled all over the place, I finally stopped, but my ribs are aching and sore! You wonder what humorous words the man spoke today, He said, and (Tee-hee, hee--giggle--snort)I quote; "I'll lower taxes, stop hunger and raise your pay, No more crime, no more war, if for me you'll vote:" Now that I've explained it all, do you see, what brought the tears of laughter to me eyes; For it's really very hard, don't you agree, Not to laugh and laugh at political lies?
