I posted one of these Anole's a couple of posts ago, but I thought I would post a male in the process of attracting the female. The things us males will do to get some attention!
Green Anole
Anoles carolinensis
Body length: 5-8 in..
The green Anole is a relative common lizard, slight in build, with a narrow head and a long, slender tail that can be twice as long as the rest of the animal. Color can vary from gray-brown, to brown, to bright green; each animal can change its color to blend with surroundings. Males can have a noticeable dewlap that is pink when displayed. Commonly referred to as a "chameleon" due to its ability to change color, but not a true chameleon.
Anoles eat small insects and spiders.
Breeds from late March through early October. Lays a single white egg, which it buries in loose, moist leaf litter. Young hatch after 5-7 weeks. I have these in my yard and they are quite fast and not good models...for me catching one on camera was a treat.

And, we girls fall for it almost EVERY time! ;0) Excellent photo. Good job at catching the quick little critter, too. I helped my sister run a pet store years ago and she got a shipment of little lizards in and as we were opening a new shipment the box opened wrong and we had 20 lizards running in 20 different directions. It was like my second day there. I caught one by the tail and unbeknownst to me they have a survivial trait that allows them to lose the tip end of their tale to escape and wa-la all of a sudden all I had between my fingers as the tip end of his tail! I though I would DIE! LOL! What a day. For months to come we'd find a lizard here...a lizard there! LOL. We never did catch them all.

Yup, all males are exhibitionists, but you know what, girls love it!! If I was a female lizard, I'd be running in his direction, what an amazing specimen! That's just a cool capture, great timing and compo. Beautiful photo =)
