Description

Still needs a bit of work, it's too clean and cgish especially the glass tube on the side. It needs some bubbles in the water or something and some subtle smears and stains on the reflective surfaces. Maybe a touch of steam above the cup. All comments and suggestions welcomed!

Stunning, just as it is! Great modelling/texturing.

Very, very nice! Like you say it is clean but I'm not bothered with that in a scene like this - it looks like an ad and should be clean :) The only things that does bother me a bit are the coffee rings. I understand why you put them there but they look odd compared to the overall shinyness. I suggest you keep them but make them less apparent (not so dark and with reduced specularity/reflection). Very good job!

Thanks for the kind comments folks! Good call Anders, those coffee rings are a bit much, I'll tone them down in the next render, thanks mate!

Looks very nice. Only the plug seems a bit not reflective enough-it looks flat. And the colors on the oranges change too sharply-maybe the light is too red?

Thanks people! :o) Silgrin - You're right that plug has been bothering me, it does look flat and I'm not sure why. I don't think it needs more reflection, I think it's it's an unfortunate combination of viewing angle and a slightly unusual shape. I might try remodeling it and see if that helps. Oranges, again I agree though I'm not sure if it bothers me enough to change it lol! It's not the light which is nearly white with just a hint of yellow. It's the mat, I added a touch of luminance to fake SSS and the colours probably need to be toned down a tad in consequence. I might try a bit of negative contrast on the light too. Again thanks for the comments!
