WOW.........WOW..........WOW.........WOW! Have I said that enough times? lol Awesome pic, man. I'd say that this is the best "forest" scene that I've ever seen. I duno if everyone would agree, but I'm certain that no one comes accross such a well done picture very often!

Very nice work. You have the outdoors down, I think. How are you doing your grasses and shrubs and smaller plants? Keep up the good stuff. Always enjoy seeing your renders.

Underbrush, schrubbery, undergrowth, DOF and atmosphere are consistently excellent. Tuts for forestry would be great! You have clearly mastered forest imagery! V

Completely Outstanding texture work! How Much is rendered, How much of it is from Photos textures, and how much of it is painted? And when do we get a TUTORIAL?!! Stunning job.

Thanks for all the great comments. The forest is a mixture of techniques. The tall pine treeline in front of the Granite Mountain is 2d pic objects. Some Bryce trees were placed in front of those for fill in and foliage, but we don't want to see much of their trunk or branches because its so digital looking. The nice tall trunks were made by me in amorphium. Horns on dragon were made in Amorphium same as trunks. Detailed branches were made using a technique I developed utilizing digital photos, photoshop, and bryce. Thats what is used in the extreme foreground branch in front of the rock, (the brownish one pointing up, not the greenish bryce branches) it also makes the branches at the top of the tree in the center of the picture with no leaves. Grass is a really good texture (that Ive used to death, see it in Ruins at Lake Kalakuhl) mixed with some post work drawn grass. Lots of post work on this picture for details and lighting. Tutorial huh? Thanks again for the encouraging comments.

Wow, I love the textures in this scene. If it weren't for the dragon I'd think I was standing in a forest right now.

Congratulations on your trees - they are fantastic. Best I've seen done in Bryce, ingenious way of composing them. Your textures are excellent too.

Lovely tree, rock, and material work! And an excellent composition. Only thing that bugs me is the Mil Dragon's ambience, methinks you have it up too high. It nearly seems like a 2D over-under-lay? Still, a beautiful piece, a masterpiece!
