Description

Gerhard (Logiloglu) posted an experiment some days ago. That reminded me that i did similar things 25-30 years ago as well. So i jumped into the archive and scaned in some of the old ones. Bad luck for you - i will maybe post some more the next days. Only if you ask nicely... ...you can escape (or not). Back to this one. That was a phase when i tried to do experimental portraits. I projected the grid with a slide projector on the face, mixed it with colored light and then used a candle light on the final developped slide. Learning by burning (a great song from German songwriter Stoppok)! It is a little tricky to do that, the time span from melting to completely burning is very short. But you can get some very interesting results (even with completely black slides) because all different color layers in the slide have different melting points.

You must of had quite some feelings revisiting your previous work. Your experiments look very interesting and I look forward to the mini series from the past. The effects achieved on this one are unique, The second and smaller burn throuh hole does strange things to the noistril size and lloks like a nose ring gone crazy.

Whoa, this is cool, Walther; love the color and light, what a terrific portrait,so unusual and compelling! (and more fun to look at than scraped wallpaper)

An interesting experiment with some amazing results. Did you experiment on a live victim? If so, all I can say is OUCH! Please do post some more of your experiments!
