The modelling is first rate. The sense of open space is heavenly. A more compact space could not be imagined.

a wonderful image. . .great uses of bitmaps-- I'd love to see the wireframe, because I have the feeling you've created a sense of complexity without enormous geometry. On that score, one hint is that when you've got different kind of realworld materials on an item (like the shoji screen, which has paper and wood) it can add to realism to give them specular maps which distinguish the materials. . .in the realworld the differing reflective characteristics of things is often the information that lets our eye pick out what we're looking at.
