Ultra Fractal
I went outside about an hour ago to check that things were in order around our place. (It's just after midnight here.) I walked back toward the house as I reflected with my head down, partially watching where I was walking in the dark, and the thought came to my mind, "Pope John Paul, I hope you are at this moment looking down on us from heaven above".
As soon as I had thought this, I lifted my head and looked at the stars in one point of the night sky. And, at that very moment, in that very precise part of the sky where I gazed, a shooting star (which I haven't seen in ages), suddenly appeared and flew across the starlit firmament in front of me, as my feet momentarily forgot how to take another step, and my breath was held captive from my amazement. Believe me, folks, I'm not just making this up.
All day, the news channels have been quoting the verse from John, where Jesus tells us that he goes on ahead of us to prepare a place for us. But the verse that constantly went through my mind all day as we waited for the inevitable news was when Jesus told one of the criminals crucified with him, "Today, you shall be with me in Paradise".
I truly believe my question has been answered.
