Description

Kat and the 'fraidy robot ========================= Created: March 2005 Created with: - Poser Pro Pack - Vue d'Esprit 4.22 (Rendered in, no postwork) ======================= Another of my images that another site thought was hopeless so from now on I'll just be posting what I create in here and also in the POSER newsgroup. - Not that I think either of the latter two are any less discerning! >:-P Designed as a moody scifi desktop image, I've done two sized versions, 1024x768 and 1600x1200. - Both of which I'll be posting here. The larger version lets you see more details in the scene. There's also a developmental render I'll post up after the others because it looks nice on it's own too. :-) Z. ======================= Products from Renderosity used: ------------------------------- - Posable Black Widow (spider) by Brycetech available at: www.renderosity.com ======================= Freebies used: -------------- - Control Panel 01 by Christopher Haigood (Mestophales) AKA TEK By Design http://www.tekbydesign.com - Cylinder 2 By Stonemason (is NOT part of the Sci-Fi Crates 'n Containers product) (it's a 'sampler' freebie for it put out by Stonemason) http://home.xtra.co.nz/hosts/polycount3d/ ======================= Products from DAZ used: ----------------------- - Level 19 by Stonemason - Sci-Fi Crates 'n Containers by Stonemason - Dystopia Vehicles: Transport One by Moebius87, Ajax - Millenium Cat Bundle - JICC 3000 'DAZ Original' created by Dodger =======================

The cat looks like he's saying: I thought I saw a robot! The cat's cute, he's in such a contrast with the robot. Love, Lemon.

Fantastic composition and lighting. The scene is full of things and you even found space to put an spider. Great scene.

"...another site thought was hopeless..." Their loss is our gain! I feel like I could walk up the stairs, step on the spider, pet the cat, and go to work. Beautifully done.

Thanks for the comments. :-) -- I tried to make this image visually interesting and to also visually layer it so it became more '3D' than a lot of the stuff I usually do. Lighting and shadows were my main concern then I went and 'cluttered up' the scene to give it more eye candy. - This scene started out with one main spotlight and although I tried other things it was that one main spotlight that gave the best 'feel' for the entire image. There's another 4 lights, one for the cabin, one for the ship's door area, one to help illuminate the scifi console, and one to help subtly light up the robots face as it was lost in deep shadow. Adding in extra lights without throwing off the main spotlight look was a challenge. :-) -- I tried to make this scene entirely in Poser Pro but my poor old underpowered computer couldn't handle it so I had to use Vue d'Esprit to further the job by having myself posing stuff in Poser Pro and then importing and rescaling them them in one at a time into Vue.

Excellent scene set-up and effective lighting. The lack of human figures makes this look photographic. "Jonesy" is keeping a very brave face!

Absolutely wonderful. I love the story telling qualities of this image. Tremendous use of all these props... they all worked out very well together!
