Description

Vue Infinite No Postwork -- but a ton of fiddling with the new V5I functions. This image reminds me of a stretch of beach in the Cayman Islands near Cemetary Reef, a great dive spot. Wish I was there now, I still have 2 feet of snow on the ground in Reno/Tahoe. The cool technical thing about this image is the use of Vue's new procedurally driven functions which I used to produce the waves and the beach. There are no texture maps used at all (except for the palm leaves). The foam is automatically generated based on how near the water is to the shore (thanks to Eric Holbrook for initiating this idea). Also, the reflective sand is generated based on the altitude of the shoreline. Maybe its the nerdy engineer in me that's so excited by this, but I can't help myself. I will post the material files to freestuff for fellow Vue'ers.

Oh, I wish I was there.... although my wheelchair might get stuck in the mud, and by the time I got to the shade I'd be burnt all over... but it looks great and inviting, even enough to fool me into wanting to be there at my own detriment.
