Photo cropped & toned (& framed) in Photoshop.
First of all- I would like to display a quote by RYNO-a FORMER Renerosity artist- that I find very very true. he hit it right on the head with this!
"If you want viewings, post pin ups.
If you want comments, post pets, people, or flowers.
If you want to really explore what is possible as an artistic expression - persist."
How true this is.... It's kind of sad when you look to see what kind of images are being looked at on this site. Not only is the above comment so true, but also it seems to be quite "cliquish." In other words- people will list favorite artists based on the comments that are made on their images- and vice versa.
Also, it seems that most people on here DO NOT have a clue how to critique an image. Why is it that people will say things like "cute cat" or "wow- such a pretty girl," or just comment on the SUBJECT rather than what the photograph is and/or what it conveys? Along with that, some people on here seem to resent even getting a true critique telling them how to improve the image. I often get "nastygrams" sent to me in my messages because I went against the grain of people just saying how pretty the subject is, or how great the POV is, or just what a cool pic it is. I like to tell what I see in it and how to maybe improve it if needed.
Personally, I much prefer people telling me about my image itself. I dont care if someone has the same kind of car that I took a photo of- or the person, place, or object in my image is nice looking. PLEASE tell me about the image.
I apologize for my cynicsm... but this is just one of the sites I post my work on and it by far- has the longest way to go when it comes to people knowing how to actually comment on artwork.

between thispicture and the one in the little size, there's a lot of differences. And I think I prefer the little one because it's closer to the subject

[timeless sepia] a superb moment captured...but please, don't do again this type of scene -half water, half ground - in this case you should've croped a half of water and let the sky be free in the other part of the image...As I can see you've started to make beautiful photos...bravos! go on!

It is interesting to see what a very long shadow this group of trees cast upon the water as thee is highlite to each side of the willow grouping. It is an image of warning as the darkened sky suggests an on coming storm. :~)

Sometimes you have to break the rule of thirds, I think this is one of those times. The calm, glassy water on the sides with the ripples in the middle lead the eye to the trees and then the dark sky. I think the composition works perfectly for this photo. Looks like I'm going to have to hit you up for some toning lessons in the near future!

Yes I think the water portion of the image does have a value..ie: the reflection of the trees and the lead into the subject. I wouldn't have cropped it any other way.

How about "Quietly She Weeps At The River With Her Sister"? Like that -- I have more titles...just ask. ;)
