Description
Many people may remember the photo that potrimpo posted of his great-nephew, little Troy. Sadly, on April 3rd, 2005, Troy lost the fight and passed away.
This poem, "One Little Soul", came to me when I heard the sad news. It's meant to be a tribute of sorts to a tiny life that fought so hard against almost impossible odds, and lost. I hope that, in some small way, it may bring a little bit of comfort, not just to Troy's family, but also to every parent who had a child born too soon and died too soon.
Thanks goes to leanmac for helping me fine-tune this poem, for without his cheerful imput, there would be a vastly different poem here.
To little Troy, rest in peace. You fought the fight, now rest the rest. To Troy's family, a candle was lit that night for all of you.

This is so heartfelt and beautiful to me because a friend of mine lost her baby during delivery today...these precious little lives that are taken so soon, but mean so much to so many...I think your poem is a great comfort. My prayers go out to little Troy and his family...peace be upon them all.

The thoughts are so sad and the poem so beautiful, my heart goes out to all who feel this deep pain.

I remember the photo and had the little guy in my prayers. Having had a 9 week early one 20 years ago, I knew what they were going through. Such a sweet poem to honor him. Thank you for sharing it.

beautiful work girl... and sorry potrimpo... having a daughter of my own... i can really sympathize with the love and hurt of watching a child suffer... at least he's resting now.. and with God :)

What a beautiful poem. I have to admit I got a little teary eyed reading it. So sorry for your loss potrimpo.
