Description
I've been trying to get Woody to put some of his pieces online somewhere. I talked him into let me post another one. This one is from a Magic Eye book he's working on...
"Derr, southwest, de tree lighthouses, visible now" Mano told me, pointing his thick brown finger.
Leaning to see past the deckhouse, I strained my eyes in the gathering dark. Against the afterglow from the sunset, I could see two tall concrete structures standing against the horizon, way off past the islands. The government had built these monstrous towers, out along the farthest reef, for navigational aids and regional comm channels and stuff like that. They certainly were tall; their upper parts still caught the sunlight gone to us. But I couldn't see any third tower. There was a star just above the horizon, but I didn't think the government was ambitious enough to have put THAT there.
"You say there's three towers?" I asked.
"Look careful, right at de hill on the island right between de two towers you do see. Ta third be off beyond dem now, see? It's not lit up yet. Now, der it comes."
Straining to see something beyond the hill, my vision seemed to swim for a second. But then I saw it. With its lamp lit, it was obvious now, but the structure itself was barely any different color from the sky behind it, it was so far away. The three towers and the star looked like four bright candles in a row, stretching off into the distance toward the west.
Wood says he did this in MS Paint. But I think he used Photoshop or something for the gradient.
