Description
I'm going to take a bit of a detour from my usual stuff and start posting some of my impractical house designs.
Finding ways to design a "dream home" is what got me started in the 3D genre in the first place. I only started playing with Poser figures in order to make my architectural visulizations more realistic - and of course I got a bit sidetracked... :)
Anyway, this is the first of my series of "Impractical Houses" which is still a work in progress. This particular one was inspired by Air Traffic Control Towers. The stair well is a separate structure behind the main building (not completed yet).

I like it - why do you say it's impractical?

ditto. It's unconventional, but I like it quite a bit.

I know of more impractical houses. Bill Gates' house, for example. How many square feet does his family need? Still, anyone who built it would be considered genius by some and a lunatic by others, or perhaps a little of both. It reminds me of an air traffic control facility, with very low flying traffic, and some parking beneath. One place where this would actually be practical: along a shoreline. It's not only designed for flood, it's reinforced.

I love the idea of impractical houses-- architecture is always a little impractical, but you take it all the way. Nice render, too. . .
