Description

Blue Tits are among my favourite Garden and Woodland birds whilst I waited for the right moment I noticed that each twig and leaf was thoroughly examined, the little bird advancing in small rapid hops, seizing items either while perched upright or hanging upside down. While searching, each blue tit has a habit of holding its head back as if short-sighted! This constant activity is enhanced by persistent flicks and twitches of wings and tail and frequent calls. Thanks as always for taking time to look and make any comments

My favourite spring bird (after the blackbird who spellbounds me with his song) and so cute to look at and listen to. I could not imagine a more excellent photo of him than this.

Beautiful bird, Danny, you have the perfect cap here. Thanks for the story too! I'm lucky enough to have a pair nesting in my garden. They are unlucky enough to have me as their gardener..... Still they get fed well (RSPB mix from Sainsbury's, 2.99 a bag - ouch!) even if the weeds & brambles are a bit too much to bear.... Cheers, Steve.

Wonderful capture, Danny! Fabulous work :) One thing though, as a short-sighted person: we don't hold our heads back when we want to see something clearly - we actually move our noses closer to the object we want to examine :D The blue tits must be far-sighted then :D
