Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Great shot.. I think the story is most interesting though. Both the story and the photo depict how easily we can become highly involved with things to distract us when we are fundamentally unhappy, and in doing so we entirely lose our perspective of some of God's greatest creations! How awesome it is, though, when we once again recognise them!

Lovely image...never feel alone with all the friends you have here! ;) I'm going to my in-laws in the country this weekend so I hope there are clear skies so I can try my hand at some stellar images.

this is definitely a lonely image, jan-carel. beautiful but so much empty space. working long hours is difficult, but as you said, when you're so busy, well, you can just not notice certain things. unfortunately, it will creep up on you. rejected love...that's hard, but just know that one day, you're gonna find the ONE who looks at you like a shining star that brightens her world!!!! and you will feel the same about her!!! it'll happen...in God's time and according to his plan!!!! hard waiting though! :( huge hugz p.s. totally fabulous expressive image! you should enter it into the challenge this month (nightshots!)

incredible view and impressive capture of the beautiful stars! looking at it gives a feeling of silence and peace! wonder how tiny we are comparing with the space! ;o))))

I like that you have labelled the planets here. Well done. Here is a quote for you - "...No, it is impossible; it is impossible to convey the life-sensation of any given epoch of one's existence - that which makes its truth, its meaning - its subtle and penetrating essence. It is impossible. We live, as we dream - alone...." - Marlow from Conrad's "Heart of Darkness." ------ we are alone even when we aren't. -Matt
