Description
The automobile in all it's shapes and sizes, form and function has always appealed to me...for as far back as I can remember. Perhaps it was because we didn't have one when I was a kid growing up in England. Of the 2 dozen or so houses on my street only 5 had cars back in the late Fifties. It wasn't until we emigrated to Western Canada when I was 12 that we owned a car...just had to..couldn't get around without one. I've been photographing cars and their parts since I was 15 or 16..they are my first love so it's here that I feel most comfortable. This beautiful'58 Chevy belongs to a friend of mine...it is immaculate.

I should add, in case it isn't clear...the colours in the 4 pieces above the wheel are reflections in chrome of neon lights from the building it was parked outside. In the summer we have an informal gathering in Langley every Friday and Saturday nights at a local hang out and this picture was taking in the evening twilight. It's not uncommon to have in the neighbourhood of 300 cars show up Friday nights....great fun and wonderful people.

EXCELLENT choice of POV and what is chosen to be presented from this car! I also like the colors that are reflecting & toning the side of the car- it really adds to the image.

I was going to say 58, then saw I was right, this one is beautiful!! I just love the old ones, drove an old 79 Olds for over 10 years, not quite the classic, but I loved it. It was like driving my couch!!!
