Description

Here is a re-render of the sword that I made a couple days ago. I used some tips given to me and made it look a little better. I like the grayscale effect on this one.

This one is definitely better! Your use of DoF is a little odd, the pommel is out of focus and the hilt is in focus. Dof like this can make the object look microscopic (which I guess you don't want!). If you want to use Dof, can I suggest that it would look better if the whole of the sword is in sharp focus and the background is out of focus, this should help to highlight the details in the blade, and also means you don't have to worry too much about what the background looks like! Also, if I may be so bold, I don't think having it stuck in a stone does anything for the composition, it obscures the business end of the blade, and when you're rendering a fine object like this you want to show it off. Sorry, going on a bit, in a pensive mood! Keep up the good work! Hope my comment help!
