Description
Pintaius Pedicili was an Asturun warrior. The Astures were the last tribe of Northern Iberia to be conquered by the Romans and many of the young men of the tribe became Roman Auxillary soldiers, serving as far away as the Rhineland.
Pintaius served as a signifer cohortis of the V Cohort of Asturun Auxillaries of Legio VII in Germania, where he died and a headstone has been found bearing his name - this is on display at the Rhineland Museum in Bonn, Germany -.
This is a tribute to this warrior.
