Hi there! I'm Thomas alias Thomaniac from Germany. Thank you for the time you spend on my page. As you can see in my gallery I don't want to show one spiral after another (except my "Laquer Spiral" collection), though i like spirals very much, but to try very different styles of fractals. My favorite programs for doing this are Chaoscope, XD, Apo2.0, UF3, and some freeware generators. I started to create fractals september 2004 and meanwhile I'm totally addicted! More and more i love to combine fractals with 3d applications like Vue or Cinema 4D. There are so many possibilities to create nearly endless variations... :-)
BIO
Born 1972 I finally made it to an optometrist / optician (Augenoptikermeister) in 2001. Because of the bad job-situation for opticians in Germany i made the (not easy) decision to move to Switzerland, where i lived in Bern from August 05 'till April 06.
Meanwhile i got the rest of my family down here and we now live in Spiez. I'm married since 1996 and have a wonderful little doughter called Denise, born march 2003 and a really sweet little son named Kai (Feb. 2005). If time allows I create some fractals, or play role playing games like Titan Quest or Neverwinter Nights. It's my 2nd passion.
Other hobbies are taking pictures with my Olympus C-4000 Zoom and my Canon Powershot II, and making music on my PC with Fruity Loops.
At last I try myself in Cinema 4D, Vue d'Esprit, Terragen and other programs you can create 3D-Art with. Just feel free to take a look at my private homepage under: http://www.thomaniac.ch.vu
And if you like to meet me in the chat just feel free to IM or mail me.
UPDATE: Because of the lot's of photos i've uploaded the last time i've opened a new gallery especially for them. You will find them under "phothomaniac". Or simply follow this link:

A lovely image, and yes, very reminiscent of Spirograph (is our age showing?) ;) There used to be a shareware computer version of the game, which I had and lost in a computer crash. I am sorry to hear of your troubles and I don't mean to sound trite, but sometimes other, better doors really do start opening when the ones we have counted on for so long start to close. Best of luck to you.

A Magnificent creation, Thom. I hope you are able to get another job soon. I understand and definately approve of time spent with your children. Things will work out, just keep the faith. Great job on your flame. :)

A beautiful flame! It is funny to me that you named this image as you did. I have a 'spirograph' flame that I haven't uploaded yet! Made it a couple of days ago! Yours is much more beautiful! An excellent presentation, and a truly remarkable flame!
