Description

An attempt at depicting photo-realism. Using a basic Poser 4 render as a starting point, I wanted to see how far my current postwork techniques could be taken. The final image, took about a month, using various Photoshop techniques and tools with a graphics tablet. Many overpainted layers were utilised, and noise, blur and smudging used to achieve the desired effects. Additional layer opacity blends and adjustments were also used where necessary. Similar techniques were applied section by section, layer by layer for the nose, hair and skin tones. Having persevered for many long and difficult evenings, I hope the end result justifies all the effort. Thanks to all again, for the continued kind words of support and comments on my works - sincerely appreciated. Comments always welcome. Oh yeah!!! Awesome, buddy!!! This looks great. You did a fabulous job with the painting. I think you've grabbed ahold of those reins tight with that new pen tablet! The hair is absolutely fantastic. You did a fabulous job and it does have the realism you were shooting for. If the devil is in the details, she just walked out with horns. Well done, my friend.

really nice realism work, your detail is masterful... perhaps skin a bit funky in areas of forehead and ear...

Very nice attempt! Although the throat and fingers look more painted than in a photo, they do not distract from how great this looks. In fact, it adds a crafted look that I think is nice. I like this a lot.

Stunning portrait. You could have posted it under photography and very few people would have noticed it wasn't so. Nice face morph. Great lighting. The only think I don't see clearly is that there seems to be something wrong on her ear or maybe it's just a shadows play. Excellent and vote.

This is an amazing and totally unique character you have created. Jaw droppingly so. Nothing about this looks like Poser to me -- I'm just blown away by the realism of her facial features. A REAL person here. And look at those piano fingers. Stunning work.
