sry, but I kind of agree with RU, Eoin is able to do much better work than this, although it is not bad at all.

Speaking as one who has received honest critiques from Eoin, I would say that sometimes it may be that an artist explores color, atmosphere and textural appeal on a piece because it draws you in a new direction, not always keyed to how "difficult" technically the whole design is. Just because Eoin can push the envelope doesn't mean he must do it every time. I find the image quite satisfying on several levels.

I can see RealUser and SimonSawSunlight's point. I personally would rather have more helpful comments myself, yet I fail to see any helpful comment from either of them. On the other hand; I'm not as skilled in terragen as Eoin is. Therefore; I don't feel qualified enough to offer anything all that useful. I think the pov gives this a "larger than life" feeling to it. Surfaces are well done, and I can only dream of creating such a lovely strata. The sky itself seems kind of empty and the ridges at the bottom seem a little funny, but other than that it is an awesome terragen piece.

In Australia we have this thing called "tall poppy" syndrome...and I see it pushing it's little head up here. It's always a hard act to follow your own best work....and sometimes a change in direction gives results that aren't fully under control. For my money cut a little of the foreground out and you have an image that would silence the sharpest of commentators. A powerful and gutsy piece of work. Keep em rollin.....

Besides the composition I see nothing really wrong with this. Great work Eoin on the surfaces and contrasts.

Hey, actually this is not about Eoins artistry (he IS an artist me thinks). It is about how members of ReRo are commenting. Always reading this superlatives makes me really sick! Please, do every artist here a favour and come back to a normal language. Btw: This is a disease to be find everywhere on ReRo! And now to something completely different ...

Rocks and sky ist a beautifull work, typical Eion. The sandy ground could have a little bit more bumpiness or structure. I think it's a little bit too smooth, but how ever, it's a phantastic work and I would be happy, if I could make a picture half as good as the pics from Eoin are. Might be that all the superlativs with the time may boaring and not helpfull in getting better, but it's everyones right to express his feelings, when he sees an excellent pictures and Eoins pictures are excellent. Perhaps Eoins will shares his knowledge with us and write a tutorial. I would be happy about it.

Looks like you've got L3DT singing now...I think the surfaces, strata and highlighted terrain areas are very well done...my only comment would be that the horizon on the left is a bit blown out, but then again, it does give a balance to the image.
