Description

This is my first attempt at posting a B&W! Thank you Paul for inspiring me to see beyond the everyday. This was taken the same day as the first storm shot. I was trying to capture the way the wind blows the snow over the ridges and cascades down the face like a waterfall. It is very hard to capture the action and I must have taken a dozen or so shots. I was going to post this in color, but when I put the two side by side I knew the B&W showed more depth. Thanks again to all of you! I hope I have a chance, this weekend, to catch up on viewing and commenting on all the posts I may have missed during a busy week!

this reminds me of northern Nevada. I went through there many years ago and on the east side of the highway are mountains covered in snow about 1/2 mile from the pavement and directly on the west side is white sand dunes right on the edge of the highway close to Orovada,Nevada. your capture is excellent and the b/w adds to the intensity of the snow blowing

It's the second time i come to this one to look at it! This is a great capture! I like the transition between the foreground and the backgroud. The highlights and the dark areas. And of course the snow being bown over the ridges. FANTASTIC!! :)

Nice choice..love the blowing snow and that beautiful lighting...I think the black could be blacker, which would raise the contrast without blowing out the highlights...mess with the levels and only adjust the shadow areas of the image...it's just a little flat

Fabulous sight all that spindrift blowing about. I* think you captured the movement of the wind well, your perseverance paid off.
