Description
ok, now a serious picture...
after Karate sisters and Self portrait in colors that were done just for fun, I'd like to show you an image I'm quite proud of.
This is a three shot horizontal stitching of the view from the highest tower of S. Gimignano.
The village is called "City of the towers" because there are still thirteen stone towers (that is quite a number for a small town like that!).
It seems that in the XIV sec. there were 72 towers, symbols of power and prestige, one for each family group of the city... :)
The stitching was very hard this time because I did not align the camera with the horizon, but instead I made a downward movement with it. I find the final effect very appealing.
Altough the color version looks really good to me I thought that sepia would have improved the ancient look of the place... but I'd like to hear what ou think about it.
:)
Have a great sunday!

Stupendous POV. I was there last June, its an amazing place, I wish I'd went up one of the towers now! Your choice of Sepia does indeed add to the medievil feel.
