Description

This picture was taken with the Nikon coolpix 8800, with the vibration reduction system turned on, at a distance of more than 60 ft. Bombycilla cedrorum (Cedar Waxwing) These social birds have been using habit of passing berries or even apple blossoms from one bird to the next down a long row sitting on a branch, until one bird eats the food. Smaller than a robin. A sleek, crested, brown bird with a black mask, yellow tips on the tailfeathers. Almost always seen in flocks in open woodlands, orchards and residential areas. It breeds from British Columbia to Georgia. It winters from New England and British Columbia to Panam
