Description

Inspired by a couple of Fangoria magazines, I wanted to make my own cover star. I had to place this in the mixed medium category, because the work in it is split between Photoshop, Carrara, a base of Poser and a bit of Illustrator for the title. I guess there is a lot to explain about this pic, technically, I have had my Mac spinning the 'color wheel of patience' for hours to get Anything Grooves to displace Poser geometry with displacement maps I made from pictures of a hem that is getting skinned. I rendered different layers of the body (normal skin and sick skin an displaced skin) and did the compositing in Photoshop CS. All running blood was painted in, as was the hair (which is rather obvious I think). I als used Anything Grooves for the ground, I used a terrain with an imported height map for the 'meat' on the title. And here is a really LARGE version.

Makes my skin crawl. Great work on the 3 layers of skin/meat. You done an outstanding job with the layer work and painting. (only thing that I would change is the color of shoes...to me, they seem to blend too closely with the ground, but, of course, that might be the effect you were going for).
