Description

Bryce 5, no post apart from sign. I think the whale was from Toucan. 4 lights in the scene - 2 for the caustic effect on the whale, and 2 above water (one set as volume and the other normal, but both visible) and a cone with the "lit-rays mat" for the light rays. The "bubbles" were made from a terrain that has been clipped and lowered and a lot of 'basic noise' applied with a foamy water mat. I did try to use spheres for the bubbles, but soon realised I'd need hundres of them for effect, and then stumbled on the terrain idea which was a lot quicker and more effective anyway I think :-) Thanks for all the comments on my previous images - they really are appreciated.....Brian

So quiet, so murky and so wonderful. You really captured the density of the water and your idea with the terrain bubbles is so unique. Excellent render and really gorgeous.

Excellent lighting and a great idea with the terrain. Deceptively simple picture that's really beautiful - you can almost get lost in the depths of it.
