Description

This is a conte-crayon drawing I did some years ago, based on an old photo.I hope it's a clear enough image.I especially love the cowboy boots on the center boy. The photo was taken at what was once called a 'Bungalow Colony' in Loch Sheldrake in upstate New York. People would spend the summer there, with friends and family, 'roughing it' in little cabins. Hope you like it! :)

Hello Margana. This is wonderful!! I feel as if I have been there before. You created such a nostalgic feeling from such a simple picture. I spent many summers in a bungalow colony in upstate New York. This brings back many memories. I actually had a pair of cowboy boots just like the ones in the picture and remember feeling so cool in mine. Thanks for the memories. I look forward to more of your work. Great job!!

It's been a while that I had time browsing your gallery... This image is outstanding - it captures the feeling of summer-vacations and childhood perfect! I don't know why but I have some novels of John Irving in mind while looking at it...

Enjoy your style with the bold outline. Wish I had more time to draw. Have nothing else to show, I threw all mine away apart from two unfinished pieces. One day... Excellent!!!

You've really captured emotion in the boys faces. Quite excellent indeed, love your choice of medium. I'm a graphite and charcoal artist. YOur pallette is so neutral. The choice of red as a compliment is as bold and brass as the young man in the middle of the photo sporting a fantastic pair of cowboy boots. I like it alot, nice to meet you. Judith
