Sepia toned is really just right. For me an image like this needs more of wall on top. Will give a long tall apppearance.I would have centered it too,but now am learning that keeping things to the side more seems to have an appeal. As far as this mail box goes.....Just excellence love to see things like this.

I love this mailbox! They sure don't look like that where I am! I'm a little concerned that dBgrafix says it's sepia-toned.It certainly doesn't look that way on my screen. I see beautiful rich shades of gray with the oh so slightest tinge of umber.Am I wrong?

A most interesting letter box/mailbox. No, they aren't constructed like this where I live. It looks more grey than sepia to me also.
Digimon
Yes a very "Timeless" image!! I love the composition!!

not like our boring boxes, has character... like it might speak... you got some symmetry going on in the background... the center looks good to me & a great tone (they can be varied) a clean look :]

Like a still life, made up just for you! Great shot of this wonderful old mailbox, we have none of that kind in Sweden.

Our English telephone boxes used to be that colour and "feel" too, just like the letterboxes, until sometime in the 80s when they made them all boring grey ones ;-) Very well composed again, like dBgrafix said maybe a little more wall showing at the top could improve it a bit but it's a very minor point ;-)

A really neat shot, but I'd also like to see it in color... aren't they red?
addiek
I'm guessing that pillar box is pillar box red in color Pasc! What an amazing color it is now! Here you get a big tick from me because you have evoked a color through another color. The old cast-iron moulding and crown is timelessly 'heritage specific' to England. The contrast with the light grey of the wall is special. Very good work m'girl!!!

it's quite a lovely image, Pascale, and what i love more than anything is that gorgeous background! the lighting is fabulous coming thru that window on the left! it's a fantastic capture just the way it is. just me personally...i wouldn've loved to have seen this one in color. I also would have enjoyed a more horizontal capture so i could see more of the windows and that gorgeous brick fence! but that's just a personal preference! :)

elegant piece. congrats, my friend...
