Description
We commemorate this year, in april, the 389th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes and the fourth centenary of the publication of his great novel 'Don Quijote de la Mancha'. My photo of today wants to be an homage to him.

Fine photo. I'm puzzled by the statue. I thought Cervantes lost a hand at Lepanto and was very proud of his sacrifice. I would have thought a statue would reflect this... especially his pride in his loss. Then... sculptors do what they are asked to... usually! ;-)

It's very good shot!

I thank all your comments. Really, I don't know if he is really crying or it's only a defect in the stone. Let's think he's crying because real world has not changed very much since he wrote his novel. I had, weesel, the same thought that you while I was retouching the shot and realized he had two hands. Thank you.
