Description

"I don't use drugs, my dreams are frightening enough." -M. C. Escher "Drugs are a bet with your mind." -Jim Morrison "Reality is just a crutch for people who can't cope with drugs." -Robin Williams "I hate to advocate sex, drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." -Hunter S. Thompson "I've never had a problem with drugs. I've had problems with the police." -Keith Richards "I don't intend for this to take on a political tone. I'm just here for the drugs." "Just say no to drugs!" -Nancy Reagan "The basic thing nobody asks is why do people take drugs of any sort? Why do we have these accessories to normal living to live? I mean, is there something wrong with society that's making us so pressurized, that we cannot live without guarding ourselves against it?" "The worst drugs are as bad as anybody's told you. It's just a dumb trip, which I can't condemn people if they get into it, because one gets into it for one's own personal, social, emotional reasons. It's something to be avoided if one can help it." -John Lennon "I know certain actors are totally screwed up on drugs, yet it gets covered up. Why wasn't I excused for 'exhaustion' or 'the flu'?" -Drew Barrymore "Drugs are a waste of time. They destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with with your self esteem." -Kurt Cobain

I won't ask how you managed to get t he picture. LOL. I do find that you have managed to enter the dark side of life and presented it with a mirror to reveal self distruction. Social issues and trust, the trust of being able to enter this world are the two things you gained in being able to take this picture. My hat is off to you my friend.

Great picture and superb quotes. I like the chilly mood in your picture. Is the one in the left lower corner smoking a pot pipe?

very powerful and provoking piece of art..never taken drug my self..only for the occasional head ache etc.. but worked with drug addicts and its a painful emotional thing to witness.. trust me..less of that, the composition is so emotionally atmospheric like a silent wittness.. stunning p'graphy.. b/w adds to this emotional sensitive concept OUTSTANDING .. :)...) who love to say more..

WHOA!! very powerfull & provoking image, you think they help stop the pain but it always finds away through,& then you need more then you start to slid down ward never ending, growing darker, never did crack, but it's a dark & very bad place to be,been well over 20 years, will never go back!! as for CDBrugg's comment thats just as sad, drinking just as much a crutch as drugs, haven't drank or over 23years,it's just as bad, I love this, you don't need words this says it all BRAVO!!!(V)!!!:0)@-}--

Was Kurt Cobain serious when he said this? I mean: he was known and famous for his extreme consumption of drugs of any kind. I like all those quotations. they are good for our questionning about this topic. But what is your personnal opinion, exactly?

Back in the 'good ole days' of manual focusing cameras, I found that I couldn't focus worth as damn if I had consumed any alcohol or drug - so you could say that photography kept me straight :-) - wonderful illustrative image!

I love to get high but not with drugs. Physical endurance to the max was my high. It feels good to feel good. Just say no to drugs, stick with beer and champagne. Aloha

in seventies, i was twenty years old! iwent 3 times in india!in these "ancient times" drug was not only drug ,but a mind and spiritual experience;we read ,castaneda ,timothy leary, and san francisco poets!I think ,it was better than the eighties and their Yuppie experience;AND NOW, WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE ??

A 2nd Opinion...The NZ Minister of Health, being Interviewed on Radio as I write...has put this Countrys Drug Related Deaths as N0#1...Tobacco Smoking...NO#2...Alcohol (also the cause of 90% NZ Crime)...the Minister also talks of the Double Standards surrounding Legal Drugs and Illegal Drugs...Legal Party Pills are the latest explosion here...and attempts to close down the Legal Retailers, come with such Statements as...."Close down the Legal Highs...and Our Youth will turn to Smoking "P"....Pure Methamphetimine...which is reported to be as big as the Marijuana "Business" in NZ...one cannot buy Cough Medicine here...if it has the Ingredient to be made into "P"...unless You satisfy Pharmacist and Authorities with Identification...however...Tobacco & Alcohol MUST come into any equation, when talking Drugs...as they leave the most carnage ...salute

Way to stir the pot, Kort (pun intended)! As a member of the generation that came of age during the psychedelic era (yes, I was at Woodstock), I'd like to make a few observations: 1) everyone takes some kind of drug, whether it's marijuana, alcohol, tobacco, coffee, aspirin or herbal tea, 2) the government has no business telling any adult what substances they should or shouldn't be putting into their own bodies, & 3) there are a lot of people in this world who would derive great benefit from a little consciousness expansion...
