Description
i rendered the grass(two different kinds) in scenebuilder, made masks of a couple of different trees i found and added them to the picture at different sizes and mirroring etc. .. applying an inner bevel to them . i made the stars with noise on a black background and then changed the noise to white. . the clouds/fog/mist is from glitterato(4 different scale sizes from the same settings i made and no stars) .. the "moon behind the clouds" was a fluke (happy accident) from glitterato .. the way the glare properties lit the settings i chose at that scale and i ran with that. i applied a light setting i have made to the grass while it was merged on its own layer to try to give it the look of the moon light moving across it and there is a top layer of the 'mist' over the grass in the front of the image to sort of tie in the misty feel of it and varied the sharpness of the grass from foreground to background in an attempt to give it some added depth and reality. i flipped copies of the forward trees and made them black and deformed and blurred them in an attempt to make them look like moon cast shadows. i made the birds from a vectored ellipse whose nodes i edited then converted to a raster and added a few points of highlight to them.
i merged layers, duplicated, made the top duplicate black and white then lowered the opacity of it until the level of saturation suited the mood of the picture .. i then applied blend emboss to the bottom color layer to give it just a bit more sharpness .. at this point using a sharpening filter would have made the smaller branches on the trees appear very strange but i think the emboss worked out pretty well. And finally i applied a linen texture to it, rotated ninety degrees and reapplied, framed, and signed. Thank You for taking the time to look.

This is truly gorgeous! I wish it was bigger, though!

Thank You Eowyn. I am really glad that You like it .. coming from someone as talented as You that is certainly a comment to be cherished .. smile. Now that I have it finished and up, I wish it was bigger also .. lol. I only just started posting to Renderosity a short time ago and up until that time i never made anything in psp larger than say 400X600 because most of what i did went up as part of a web page i would be designing and i had to consider load time and viewable screen size. I am trying to think bigger now in my work .. sometimes i forget but i am trying now.. smile. Namaste, odyssey

This is splendid - the trees turned out beautifully and the whole thing is just perfect in its moodiness - excellent work! I know what you mean about "working big", I'm having to retrain myself and learn that just cos I can't see the whole image at once on the monitor doesn't mean I can't keep track of it! :-P

My problem was that if i made something big i always had to resize it for a web page or a list and so much of the detail would be lost .. that is the main reason i guess.
