Testing the limits of my system. I finally manage to put together a 4 computer render farm. This image uses a light dome and was rendered at a ridiculous 256 rays. Comments are more than welcome. Yes, I know his hair isn't the best and it's a rather plain composition--if I decide to jazz it up at a later date I'll post that one also.

This is way beyond the usual Bryce image. NICE work indeed! The lighting is very smooth. Soooo... just how long did it take your render farm to do this?

To answer zescanner's question, it took about three days to render. The sphere with the volumetric fire took up a significant amount of that time, as did the hair for some reason. The scene contains 137 lights. If the upcoming Bryce 5.5 can render something like this 50% faster I'll be very happy. I wonder how long a 300 dpi render to disk would take. A month? (shudder...)

Really nice. What I'm surprised about is this seems to be the closest to realism I've seen (human-wise) from Bryce. Most images hide their people with shadows or bright glows, but I like how you boldly put the man center. Great lighting setup.
