Waited till the last image to say that.
First of all- I would like to display a quote by RYNO-a FORMER Renerosity artist- that I find very very true. he hit it right on the head with this!
"If you want viewings, post pin ups.
If you want comments, post pets, people, or flowers.
If you want to really explore what is possible as an artistic expression - persist."
How true this is.... It's kind of sad when you look to see what kind of images are being looked at on this site. Not only is the above comment so true, but also it seems to be quite "cliquish." In other words- people will list favorite artists based on the comments that are made on their images- and vice versa.
Also, it seems that most people on here DO NOT have a clue how to critique an image. Why is it that people will say things like "cute cat" or "wow- such a pretty girl," or just comment on the SUBJECT rather than what the photograph is and/or what it conveys? Along with that, some people on here seem to resent even getting a true critique telling them how to improve the image. I often get "nastygrams" sent to me in my messages because I went against the grain of people just saying how pretty the subject is, or how great the POV is, or just what a cool pic it is. I like to tell what I see in it and how to maybe improve it if needed.
Personally, I much prefer people telling me about my image itself. I dont care if someone has the same kind of car that I took a photo of- or the person, place, or object in my image is nice looking. PLEASE tell me about the image.
I apologize for my cynicsm... but this is just one of the sites I post my work on and it by far- has the longest way to go when it comes to people knowing how to actually comment on artwork.

you did a nice job creating the mood with the cool colors and haziness.

Looking back at the series now, I can see what it is you are trying to achieve. All the images reveal a tranquilty about themselves and the selection of a secondary tone and that of blue make these duo-toned images very interesting. The composition of these two plants is perfect and nicely offset by the dark shadow on the bottom right corner.

Actually- the glow on the sides of the reeds was part of the reed itself- those white, cottony little things with the seeds that get released & fly about.

Great and difficult work.

Very lovely.... I really like the minimalistic aproach.... only thing disconcerting is the odd glow on the left sides of both reeds.... possibly an effect of the postwork? Maybe it was intentional... in any case thought I would mention it as it takes away (for me) the perfection of the image. Edit: I stand corrected :~)... and now that I know what they are I understand! Still think it's a fabulous image Ken....
