Description

Chateau de Joux (France) This fortress was continuously garrisoned for about 1000 years until the defeat of the French Army in 1940. The entrance in the foreground was part of the modernisations of 1886-87, built under the direction of Captain Joffre (the future commander of the French Army 1914-1916). I was standing on top of what had been the ammunition dump.

Another outstanding capture of this historic fortress! They did a great job matching the new construction to the old style. Have a great weekend :)

Very beautiful series and I am hoping that there are more to come as I would like it to continue. The way you managed to have photographed this gives it a feel of a 4x5 camera with swings and tilts in order to correct the perspective. I also like the touch of the building in front revealing the name. Excellent!
