The orange was suppose to be marigolds but look more like drying grass.

I like the terrain with the look of standing stones. Lighter surfaces could use more color variance.

Not very happy with the mountains either. Maybe some darker greys would help.

lots more surfaces! or try searching for SO Pack and tutorials - to add real textures to the terrain - try to use high quality light settings and tweak shadow darkness - also use WorldMachine to create terragen terrain files - try Rendorosity communities in top right of front page - then Terragen

As far as making mtns. with darker grey, results would depend on sunlight color, so might have better result with using SO Image Overlay, to better display texture you want and need... green and orange texture looks good to me! Keep it up and show us your adjusted landscape :-)
