Description

What started out as a Vue-landscape building/texturing test ended up like this !! 480 BC., when the Persian king Xerxes tried to invade Greece with a 10.000 strong army he was stopped in the narrow gorge at Thermopylae by Leonidas and his 300 Spartan hoplites. They fought like lions and held them up for days but were eventually slaughtered trough treason (the Persians were shown a track that led them to attack from the back). The way to Athens was now wide open but the Athenians had had the time by now to leave the city. Thanks for looking, Vue5 + Poser PP, mountain mat my own, no post. Pierre

Always one of my favourite stories, how the Spartans held up an entire army. Good terrain work, and those Hoplites look menacing - but weren't their spears 18 feet long?!? :-)

Very cool. Of course, it's also an arguement against those who don't want gays in the military.

Looks great, love the atmosphere here - I understand that today erosion has made the pass less constricted. Go Spartans.
