Description
ONCE upon a time there lived in a certain village a little country girl, the prettiest creature who was ever seen. Her mother was excessively fond of her; and her grandmother doted on her still more. This good woman had a little red1 riding hood made for her. It suited the girl so extremely well that everybody called her Little Red Riding Hood. One day her mother, having made some cakes, said to her, "Go, my dear, and see how your grandmother is doing, for I hear she has been very ill. Take her a cake, and this little pot of butter."
Little Red Riding Hood set out immediately to go to her grandmother, who lived in another village.
As she was going through the wood, she met with a wolf,5 who had a very great mind to eat her up, but he dared not, because of some woodcutters working nearby in the forest. He asked her where she was going. The poor child, who did not know that it was dangerous to stay and talk to a wolf, said to him, "I am going to see my grandmother and carry her a cake and a little pot of butter from my mother."
"Does she live far off?" said the wolf
"Oh I say," answered Little Red Riding Hood; "it is beyond that mill you see there, at the first house in the village."
"Well," said the wolf, "and I'll go and see her too. I'll go this way and go you that, and we shall see who will be there first." ......
Little Red Riding Hood is one of the few popular tales that has no known literary version prior to the publication of the tale in Charles Perrault's Histoires ou Contes du temps passe (1697). The tale did exist orally prior to Perrault's version, but we do not have enough information to know how old the tale is. After Perrault's version was published, the tale rapidly grew in popularity; it was anthologized in several English fairy tale collections during the 18th century, such as in A Pretty Book for Children; or, an Easy Guide to the English Tongue (1744) and later in The Top Book of All, for Little Misters and Misses (1760). The first English version of the tale was a translation of Perrault's collection Histories, or Tales of Past Times (1729).

This is just an incredibly lovely depiction of Little Red Riding Hood--the pose, the face and expression and the wolf lurking in the shadows. Just wonderful!!

I love everything but.... the squerril looks slightly out of place... looks more like comedic relief to me... maybe... it just looks odd... thats all i have to say. the rest is phenomenal.

Excellent wonderful work.. I love how you got all the elements in there.. the only thing that stood out for me was her hood floats above her head.. but otherwise fighting poses are all great..
